- Whyisit Always you Review added: 2018.02.21★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I’ve been to Grillstock in Bristol several times and each time I visit, it gets progressively worse. I keep at it in the hope that I might recapture my first dining experience, sadly, that appears increasingly unlikely.
Last visit, I had brisket and burnt ends on a tray with fries and ‘slaw. The brisket wasn’t smoked - it had the look, taste and consistency of meat that had been broiled in a slow cooker. The fries and burnt ends were nice. The slaw however was essentially tasteless raw vegetables. There’s also no sauces on the table anymore, the portions have got smaller, but the prices have gone up and once you’ve been served your food, none of the staff bother to check if everything is ok with your meal.
Finally, the owners seem to be too busy tweeting photos of food and info re the Grillstock festival than getting their house in order or even bothering to respond to the increasing deluge of negative reviews. It seems a crazy business model. I’ve eaten my last meal there
